# Why–What–How Video Scripting Framework

> A structured YouTube script blueprint focused on audience retention and payoffs

This framework provides a repeatable structure for writing educational and narrative video scripts. It breaks videos into a distinct hook, open loops, and modular body sections that cycle through why a point matters, what the solution is, and how to apply it. It is designed to maintain viewer retention up through an outro that leads into the next video.

## The framework

What is the Why–What–How Framework? A structured approach to creating content.

HOOK: Confirm the video isn't clickbait; Set right expectations; Establish singularity.

Open Loops (why should the viewer continue watching?): create intrigue to make the viewer watch until the Body starts. Open Loop (for body) example: "But X is extremely difficult... and one of the biggest problems people fall into is Y..."

BODY (the first point of your video): Payoff \#1, then Open Loop, then Why (explain the reason behind the first key point), What (what is the solution or benefit you're offering), How (how will the viewer implement this information). Repeat for all Payoffs.

OUTRO + CTA: Create curiosity by hinting at what will be revealed next; make a point that connects to the current video content; ensure the viewer understands the specific transformation they'll experience by clicking the next video.
