Tweeq
Parameter-tuning GUI widgets designed for creative software and direct manipulation
Tweeq is an interaction design research project and widget library (tweeqjs) presented at UIST 2025 by Baku Hashimoto and Jun Kato. It provides fine-grained, direct-manipulation controls such as drag-to-tweak sliders, angle dials, and coordinate steppers tailored for creative software. It is particularly useful as a reference for designing responsive, tactile parameter interfaces.
What it's for
- Design tactile parameter controls for creative web tools and creative coding environments
- Study novel direct-manipulation interaction patterns for tuning numerical and color values
- Implement compact GUI controls like angle dials, coordinate steppers, and color pickers
Features
- Drag-to-tweak sliders with live percentage readouts
- Rotating dial inputs for angular parameter adjustments
- X/Y numeric steppers plotted on a dotted coordinate grid
- Compact saturation-value color square with hue ring and live hex output
- Rows of pill toggles and swatch lists for discrete selections
- Stepped multi-field numeric input controls
