Synthesizing Multiple YouTube Videos with Google NotebookLM
Compare and query multiple YouTube transcripts simultaneously using Google NotebookLM
This workflow uses Google NotebookLM's native YouTube link importer to ingest transcripts from multiple videos into a single notebook. You can then query the combined sources to surface consensus, contrast opposing viewpoints, or generate study notes without sitting through hours of video. It provides inline citations back to the specific source transcripts for quick verification.
How it works
How to analyze multiple YouTube videos at once in NotebookLM:
- Go to Google NotebookLM (notebooklm.google.com) and create or open a notebook.
- Click '+ Add source' and select 'YouTube' under the Link section.
- Paste the URL of a public YouTube video (NotebookLM automatically imports the text transcript).
- Repeat step 2–3 to add multiple YouTube videos covering the same topic or product.
- In the notebook chat, select all the imported YouTube sources.
- Ask questions to summarize key insights, compare differing opinions across channels (e.g., 'What is the general review of [Product]?' or 'What key strategies are recommended?'), and identify consensus across creators.
