Remotion

Framework for creating and rendering videos programmatically using React

Visit github.com ↗

Remotion is an open-source suite of libraries and tools that lets developers build videos and animations using React, CSS, and web APIs. It includes an interactive local preview player (Remotion Studio) and tools to render compositions directly from code or cloud infrastructure. Because videos are defined strictly as code, it is widely used in automated media generation and AI-agent workflows.

What it's for

  • Generate personalized or dynamic video clips automatically from data feeds or databases
  • Power AI agent pipelines that convert text, presentations, or documents into animated explainer videos
  • Preview and scrub React-based motion graphics in the browser using Remotion Studio
  • Render production video files server-side or via serverless cloud functions

Features

  • React-based video composition using standard components, HTML, and CSS
  • Remotion Studio local player for real-time previewing and timeline scrubbing
  • Server-side and serverless rendering capabilities (such as AWS Lambda integration)
  • Frame-accurate timing and interpolation utilities for programmatic animation
  • CLI and programmatic rendering APIs

Pricing

Freemium. Free for individuals and small teams; commercial license required for larger companies
