# mgrep for Claude Code

> Semantic code and web search plugin for Claude Code

mgrep is a semantic search tool by Mixedbread that integrates into Claude Code as a plugin skill. It replaces or enhances standard keyword tools like ripgrep by enabling both semantic codebase search and live web queries directly inside the Claude interface.

## How it works

Install: 'claude plugin marketplace add https://github.com/mixedbread-ai/mgrep' then install from /plugins. Usage: 'mgrep "function handleSubmit"' for local search, 'mgrep --web "Next.js 15 app router changes"' for web search.
