# Liquid Typography Effect in Figma

> Create melted gooey typography in Figma using Boolean unions and corner radius

This technique creates organic, liquid-style connected lettering natively in Figma without external plugins. By placing individual bold letters into a Union selection and applying a large corner radius, overlapping edges blend together into smooth bridges. Because the letters remain separate inside the union group, you can tweak spacing and sizing non-destructively.

## How it works

1. Create separate text layers for each letter using a thick/heavy font weight (e.g., Inter Black).
2. Overlap and position the individual letters closely together into a word.
3. Select all letter layers and click the Boolean operation 'Union selection'.
4. In the design panel under Appearance, increase the Corner Radius setting significantly (around 200).
5. Move or scale individual letters inside the union group to adjust the melted bridge connections.

## What it is for

- Design acid-graphic or Y2K poster titles directly inside Figma
- Create organic, fluid wordmarks and display typography for branding projects
- Experiment with non-destructive liquid shape morphing without rasterizing vector text

## Key points

- Type individual letters on separate layers using a heavy or black font weight
- Position and overlap the letter layers closely to form a word
- Combine all letter layers using the Boolean 'Union selection' tool
- Increase the Corner Radius in the Appearance panel to around 200 to melt joints together
- Reposition or scale individual letters inside the union group to adjust the melted bridge connections
