/investor-pitch Claude Code Skill
Workflow to generate investor decks and target lists directly from code
This note details a Claude Code skill architecture that reads a repository and automatically creates fundraising materials. It blends codebase analysis with curated venture capital frameworks, real-time market comps via Exa, and valuation metrics. The workflow outputs tailored slide decks, elevator pitches, target investor lists, and draft YC applications.
How it works
How the /investor-pitch skill works:
1. Scans your codebase and .claude file to fully understand your project.
2. Contextualizes the project with 14 blog posts the author found useful from A16Z, Insight, YC, Thoma Bravo, Founders Fund and Sequoia.
3. Uses 2026 valuation data and recent startup news to set round fundamentals and valuation expectations.
4. Compares your project to other companies using an export from the Exa API.
5. Builds a deck, elevator pitch and TAM analysis for 3 investor types based on outcome expectations (PE, VCs, Angels).
6. Recommends specific investors to contact and writes detailed answers for a YC application.
Sample output slide shown: 'Return math' — a $500K check at an $18M cap buys 2.78%; at a $1B exit (100M ARR at 10x, CoStar/Reonomy comps) $500K becomes $27.8M (55.6x, 27.8% of a $100M seed fund); at a $500M exit 27.8x; at a $200M exit 11x. 'The floor is a solid outcome. The ceiling is a fund returner.' Then 'FOR PRIVATE EQUITY — Consolidation Activity': PropTech M&A accelerating, 163 deals in the first 11 months of 2025 vs the 10-year record of 170 set in 2022 (Houlihan Lokey), $6.8B disclosed deal value (only 9% of deals disclose). Key transactions: RealPage / Thoma Bravo / $10.2B / ~10x revenue; Matterport / CoStar Group / $1.6B / ~10x revenue; Reonomy / Altus Group / $201.5M / ~11x revenue; Digital Map Products / LightBox (Silver Lake, Battery) / $46.8M+ / Undisclosed; Clearwater Analytics / Permira, Warburg, Francisco / $8.4B / Premium. Strategic acquirers drove ~90% of all PropTech M&A activity.
