# Google Search Operator for PDF Books

> Search query operator to find direct PDF downloads of books

This search technique uses Google's file-filtering operators to locate downloadable PDF copies of books, textbooks, and academic papers. Appending doctype:pdf or filetype:pdf restricts search results solely to indexed PDF documents matching your title.

## How it works

In Google Search, enter:

\[NAME OF BOOK\] doctype:pdf

(Tip: \`filetype:pdf\` is also the standard Google Search operator equivalent to \`doctype:pdf\`).
