# Get a Legitimate .edu Email via University of the People

> Enroll in an accredited tuition-free university to receive a student email

This strategy involves applying to University of the People, an accredited tuition-free online university, to obtain an official .edu email address upon enrollment. Having active student credentials unlocks developer packs, software subscriptions, AI perks, and hardware discounts legally. It provides an accessible route for non-traditional learners to access student pricing programs.

## How it works

1. Apply to University of the People (uopeople.edu), an accredited, tuition-free, 100% online institution offering programs in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Science, and Education (note: there may be a small application/assessment fee).
2. Once enrolled as a student, you receive access to the student portal and a legitimate, active .edu email address.
3. Use your .edu email to claim student benefits across tech platforms, including:
4. Software & AI subscriptions (e.g., Cursor Pro, Google Gemini Pro, GitHub Student Developer Pack, AWS Educate)
5. Hardware discounts (e.g., Apple Education store)
6. Productivity and learning platform perks
7. Can also be utilized as a secondary burner address to keep personal accounts clear of marketing spam.
