# Claude Custom Writing Styles

> Create reusable brand writing personas in Claude from uploaded text samples.

Claude includes a built-in custom writing styles feature that learns tone of voice directly from uploaded documents, newsletters, or brand guidelines. Once saved, you can apply your custom style from a dropdown menu across different chats. It eliminates the need to paste tone instructions or writing samples into every prompt.

## How it works

1. In Claude's chat prompt bar, click on 'Choose style' next to the model selector.
2. Select 'Create & Edit Styles' -\> 'Add Writing Example'.
3. Drop, paste, or upload existing documents, posts, newsletters, or brand guidelines that represent your desired voice.
4. Name your custom style (e.g., 'AI Workflow Guide', 'Tech Productivity Guide', 'Newsletter Writer').
5. Select that style from the dropdown whenever drafting new content to ensure consistent tone across all outputs.
