# Bad FAQ vs Good FAQ Framework

> Design guide for structuring landing page FAQ sections that drive conversions

A practical framework and annotated before-and-after guide for structuring website FAQ sections. It details how to shift from generic, dead-end questions to objection-handling content that leads visitors to the next conversion step.

## The framework

BAD FAQ (title 'Frequently Asked Questions — Find answers to common questions.'): Questions like 'What services do you offer?', 'Do you design websites?', 'How much does it cost?', 'How long will the project take?', 'Can I contact you?'. Failures: Generic Questions (too generic or vague; yes/no-style questions; too technical); One-liners (answers should not be long blocks or robotic language); no CTA for the next action — it's a dead end.

GOOD FAQ (title 'Still Got Questions? We Got You — If you're thinking it, someone already asked it and we've answered it here.'): Category tabs: General / Pricing / Technical / Legal (if you have more than 8 questions, categorise them so visitors find what they want fast). Questions: 'How much do you charge for a landing page?' (answer: landing page design + development starts at $1800; design only starts at $1000; 'Want a custom quote? Book a free call'); 'How long does a typical project take?'; 'What happens after I pay the invoice?'; 'What if I'm not happy with the design?'; 'Can you work with my developer or existing team?'. End: 'Couldn't find an answer?' with a 'Book a call' button — leads user to conversion instead of a dead end.

Rules — FAQ Questions need to be: specific & outcome-focused; cover common objections; written in the customer's language. FAQ Answers need to be: skimmable (use bullets, bold key terms); provide next steps or action links. Answers should be short, clear, skimmable.
